He descended into hell.

          On the third day he rose again.

          He ascended into heaven,

              and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

          He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

 

      I believe in the Holy Spirit,

          the holy catholic Church,

          the communion of saints,

          the forgiveness of sins,

          the resurrection of the body,

          and the life everlasting. Amen

Prayers of Intercession

In hope and expectation, let us pray for restoration and peace, light and life.

 

Prepare the way for your people of every language, tribe, and nation, O God, and comfort them with compassionate leaders whose hearts are set on your ways of truth, righteousness, and justice. Stir up your power, O God;

stir up your power and come.

 

Prepare the way for your church, O God. Like John the Baptizer, may it fearlessly yet humbly announce the coming of your Son, who promises to feed his flock like a shepherd. Stir up your power, O God;

stir up your power and come.

 

Prepare the way for all creation, O God, that every element be infused with your care through our concern for all that you have made. Stir up your power, O God;

stir up your power and come.

 

Prepare the way for the weak and elderly, O God, and through us be their tender strength and comforting courage. Let them know that they are not forgotten. Stir up your power, O God; stir up your power and come.
